Your first education conference, planned properly
Turn a crowded programme into a useful learning plan.
A conference becomes useful when you arrive with a question and leave with a small action.
One week before
- Write one problem you genuinely want help with.
- Choose one anchor session, one stretch session and one conversation window.
- Check access, travel, food and quiet-space needs before the day.
During the event
For each session, capture one idea, one doubt and one possible classroom move. Ask speakers for a source when a claim matters. Leave space between sessions instead of filling every slot.
Within 48 hours
- Send any promised follow-up.
- Test one small practice, not five.
- Share a five-line note with a colleague.
- Set a date to decide whether the idea helped.
